A Snapshot of Your Day
We’re looking for an experienced environmental professional from a construction or engineering background to provide expert guidance across our Site, Bid, and Project Delivery Teams. You’ll act as a key contact for environmental matters, supporting the successful acquisition and delivery of transmission projects across multiple regions.
Reporting to the Head of Environment, you’ll help develop and maintain our Environmental Management System, build strong relationships across the business, and ensure our projects meet regulatory and internal requirements. The role also involves liaising with regulators to secure environmental consents.
How You’ll Make an Impact
3. Support the Head of Environment with improving the Environmental & Energy Management System, monitoring legislative changes, and updating business processes.
4. Provide guidance to Project Delivery and Site Management teams to ensure compliance with the Environmental Management System, legislation, permits, and contractual requirements.
5. Build environmental awareness across the workforce, deliver training, attend project meetings, and ensure all environmental actions, near misses, and incidents are properly managed and investigated.
6. Manage or coordinate environmental permits, consents, and Environmental Clerk of Works (ECoW) resources, ensuring permit conditions are met through effective CEMP implementation.
7. Conduct environmental audits, identify significant environmental impacts, support client monitoring, and contribute to environmental plans such as CEMPs and waste/resource management plans.
8. Contribute to tenders, campaigns, reporting, data collection, and continuous improvement initiatives, while providing cover for environmental colleagues and gaining wider QEHS experience through rotational learning.
What You Bring
9. Degree in a relevant discipline, professional membership (, ISEP), and strong understanding of environmental legislation within complex construction/engineering environments.

11. Competence in ISO 14001 (internal auditor or equivalent), with desirable experience in ISO 50001, investigation training, or lead auditor training.
12. Strong communication, organisation, and attention to detail, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and explain technical issues clearly.

14. Computer literate (MS Office), experienced in delivering training/awareness, and able to work offshore or internationally as required, valid driving licence.
