Techniche Global are supporting an engineering defence company to appoint a Senior Safety Engineer
Role Type: Full time / Permanent
Location: Typically 2 days/week from any hub office (Scotland, Clyde, Warringotn, Bristol, Leicester and Devonport). Once or twice a month in Bristol.
As a Senior Safety Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is your opportunity to make a real impact in support of the operational capability of the nation’s nuclear submarine fleet and the continuous nuclear deterrent by joining the Submarine Support Engineering team.
Day to day you’ll support the delivery of our technical outputs by:
Leading on safety management.
Working embedded within a client site.
Production and technical assurance of safety documentation of high technical complexity.
Mentoring and technical development of safety engineers.
Essential experience/skills/requiremnts of the Senior Safety Engineer
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
Category A1 / A2 / B operating experience – nuclear reactor experience.
In-depth understanding of submarine systems / submarine safety and product safety.
Experience in Maritime ideally, Nuclear, Land, Air, Rail, Civil.
CEng accredited with the Engineering Council or IEng and actively progressing application towards Chartership.
Broad understanding of safety and environmental management principles.
Safety and Environmental Management Training (SEMT) or similar.
Project management experience and familiarity with the delivery of technical outputs within a contractual framework.
Success at Band 5 with MOD and DE&S.
Safety certification of the sub systems
Hazard identification.
