Where and when do we need you?
Fair Ways is seeking a Learning Support Worker to join our team at our specialist Autism School in Totton. The role involves supporting various subjects, with a primary focus on sports.
Our Approach
We create person-centered programs tailored to each child's needs, including a bespoke 'autistic curriculum' that addresses learning, social, emotional, and communication needs, fostering independence and well-being. Many of our students have been out of mainstream education for some time, often after exhausting other placements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting the daily needs of the school, including onsite lessons and offsite activities.
2. Contributing to students' achievements through assessments and supporting the implementation of Individual Education Plans.
3. Assisting Therapeutic Learning Practitioners or Teachers in delivering engaging learning experiences.
4. Modeling honest, understanding, and proactive behavior to support students.
5. Working collaboratively within a supportive team, demonstrating resilience, initiative, and adaptability.
Additional Details
This role is offered on a 37.5 hours per week, term-time only basis.
Applicants must have a full driving license and access to a car. An enhanced DBS check will be required, with costs covered by Fair Ways.
Desirable but Not Essential
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant Award or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one.
* Experience in relevant subject areas, preferably within education.
