Board Trustee - Medical and Operations Committee Location : Stokenchurch, HP14 3SX Contract Type: Fixed term Contract Hours : Part time Salary : Under Renumeration ABOUT THE BOARD Our Trustees are collectively responsible for ensuring we are well funded, properly managed and compliant with the relevant legislation, so we can carry out our charitable mission. Trustees provide oversight, perspective and supportive challenge to an experienced Executive Team. The Trustees set our strategic priorities, make major policy decisions, including approving our annual budget, and monitor our performance. Our Board is currently made up of 11 Trustees, bringing experience and expert knowledge in a range of fields including: HR, governance, finance, medical, aviation, marketing and fundraising. The Board has four committees: Fundraising & Engagement, Medical & Operations, Risk, Finance & Planning and Remuneration (in In line with best practices, each Committee is chaired by a nominated Trustee). Each Trustee sits on at least one Committee. ABOUT THE ROLE AND PERSON SPECIFICATION We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable individual to join our Medical and Operations Committee, ideally with a background in medical education. This role involves contributing to the strategic oversight of clinical governance and operational performance. The Medical and Operations Committees role is to have oversight of, monitor and make recommendations on all matters relating to the delivery and governance of the emergency care service provided by TVAA. Specifically, this will include the work of the clinical teams, as well as provision of the aviation and vehicle fleet arrangements to facilitate it. The Trustee will be a member of the charitys Medical and Operations Committee, as well as a member of the Board. Our general Trustee Role Profile can be accessed via the link below. ROLE PROFILE The following person specification criteria also apply: Essentia l - Experience in a medical or operational setting. Desirable Experience of medical education. Desirable Safeguarding experience. TIME COMMITTMENT The Board and Committees each meet at least four times a year, and there are usually at least two other sessions, such as team building or strategic development, each year. The Board meets in person, and the Committees usually meet virtually. The Trustee will be a member of the Board and will also serve on the Medical and Operations Committee. In addition to Board and Committee meetings, other contact usually electronic or by telephone will be necessary. CONFLICT OF INTEREST All candidates will be asked to disclose any actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest, and these will be discussed with the candidate to establish whether and what action is needed to avoid a conflict or the perception of a conflict. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT An offer of appointment will be made once all candidates have been interviewed and will be subject to satisfactory completion of eligibility checks, including reference checks. The appointment will be made for a three year term, renewable once. You will also be a Director and Member of our Charitable Company. There are also other requirements that you must be able to comply with, such as our Code of Conduct and our Fit and Proper Persons Policy.
