Responsibilities
The Senior Design Manager will be responsible for coordinating the design elements and interfaces of all aspects of a project, ensuring design quality and monitoring delivery. The Senior Design Manager will report to the Project Manager on the project and will be responsible for daily Design Management, as well as the daily management of multiple Design Consultants. The role promotes Health, Safety and Quality on the projects and through the tender process. You will liaise between the Client, Design Consultants and project staff on design matters to promote best-value design solutions, and liaise with the Site Manager for the development of design packages and procurement strategies. The Senior Design Manager will also be involved in tender support, providing advice on tender design strategy and implementing the Commercial Protocol Designers. The Senior Design Manager will represent the company professionally to clients, colleagues and contractors.
About you
* Relevant knowledge and experience in site management and construction techniques
* Knowledge of design processes
* Chartered Engineer MICE or equivalent
* Commercial awareness
* Preference for marine or M&E works experience
* Understanding of different Client procurement routes
* Experience of site/contract procedures would be an advantage
* Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads
* Bidding experience would be desirable
* Contractor or Engineering practice background
