What You\'ll Be Doing
* Leading and mentoring a team of CAD Draughtsmen, ensuring high-quality manufacturing drawings are produced on time and in line with project schedules.
* Overseeing the production of detailed 2D and 3D models using SolidWorks, ensuring drawings comply with industry and company standards.
* Managing workflow allocation, prioritisation, and deadlines within the Drawing Office to meet client schedules.
* Overseeing the production of NC programmes for manufacturing equipment including routers, turret punches, and laser cutters, utilising Sigmanest and Salvagnini software.
* Working closely with the production, engineering, and operations teams to ensure accurate and manufacturable designs.
* Implementing and maintaining best practices in design data management, revision control, and documentation.
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within design and production workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
* Acting as the key technical contact for CAD and manufacturing software, troubleshooting issues and driving process improvements.
* Supporting training and development of team members to ensure the team has the skills to meet business needs.
Who We\'re Looking For
* Proven experience as a Senior CAD Draughtsman, CAD Manager, or Design Team Lead in a manufacturing or building products environment.
* Strong expertise in SolidWorks with the ability to produce detailed drawings and manufacturing data.
* Experience with NC programming tools such as Sigmanest and Salvagnini (or equivalent systems).
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, sheet metal fabrication, and production workflows.
* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies would be beneficial.
