Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Occupational Medicine based within NHS Grampian's Occupational Health Service, GO Health Services. NHS Grampian provides high-quality healthcare services across North-East Scotland, serving over half a million people in the Aberdeenshire, Moray and Aberdeen City regions.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support the Occupational Health Team.
* Clinical duties including management referrals, self-referrals, health surveillance, ill health retirement advice, and post job offer health assessments.
* Provide expert advice on OHS matters and contribute to a safe working environment and health and safety requirements of the workforce.
* Support service development; contribute to quality improvement and maintain SEQOHS accreditation.
About the Service
NHS Grampian Occupational Health Service is a modern, progressive multidisciplinary team. In addition to NHS Grampian staff, the service undertakes external work on a commercial basis with other employers and through sub contracts with other private and NHS occupational health providers. We have a strong emphasis on quality improvement and are SEQOHS accredited. This is a training department with links to University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University; teaching and clinical research are encouraged.
Location and Requirements
The post is based on the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary site. Full GMC registration with licence to practice is required. Licence must be in place prior to starting. UK trained applicants should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of entry on the GMC Specialist Register, or possess CESR / CESR (CP).
Applications from doctors not on the Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive appointment is made, with CESR application possible during locum period.
