On behalf of The Home Office, we are looking for a Business Continuity Disaster Recovery Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month remote contract with regular visits to Liverpool or Darlington as business requires.

The role of BCDR Manager includes the following duties:
. Support the development of BCDR across DBS including the ongoing management, maintenance and development of all necessary documentation including but not limited to BCDR Plan, Major Incident Plan, Business Impact Assessments, Denial of Plans, etc. Identifying any gaps and developing and delivering action plans to fill these and supporting an annual review of all relevant corporate documentation. This includes coordination of the review, maintenance and periodic testing of business continuity and emergency response plans, working with across Directorates to ensure these plans remain valid and fit for purpose.
. Liaise with BCDR Champions across the business, providing guidance and assurance to Directorates on their Directorate BCDR plans, ensuring they are fully aligned to the corporate BCDR plan.
. Design and outline BCDR goals, objectives and challenge business leaders on identification of critical functions and ensure these are catered for within all BCDR plans.
. Ensure DBS meets all compliance requirements as set out by our partners ie Home Office/Government Internal Audit Agency/relevant government standards.
. Development, coordination and delivery of a full schedule of scenarios and testing programme, including conducting risk assessments as required in relation to scenarios and incidents ensuring business best placed to deliver business continuity plan if enacted and identification of lessons learned, documenting evidence of actions completed, and ensuring lessons learned are incorporated and used to inform business continuous improvement decisions.
. Facilitate and support the execution of the plans at the time of a BCDR event and support the delivery of the Major Incident plan as required.
. Provide coordination support, visibility and reporting during a BCDR event, to include the impact of the event on critical services and functions.
. Provide outcome and lessons learned reports during and following a BCDR event.
. Manage and Chair BCDR Forum (committee established to support key suppliers and integrated services in the development of BCDR across DBS), ensuring action log is maintained and key suppliers' plans comply and align with DBS' BCDR plans and requirements. This will involve working closely across Directorates and with the Supplier Management Team.
. Develop and deliver BCDR training and promote awareness across the business to develop DBS' understanding of BCDR and the impacts this could have on the business and our ability to delivery our services in a BCDR event.

Essential Criteria
. Ability to negotiate, influence and facilitate activities in order to deliver the corporate BCDR management function.
. Ability to operate within organisational objectives and policies, developing medium and long term objectives for the function.
. Knowledge of BCDR management processes.
. Designing and implementing corporate BCDR plans/policies and all associated documentation such as business impact assessments, major incident plans, etc
. Designing and delivering BCDR testing schedule and utilisation of lessons learned
. Coordination of staff and services during a live BCDR incident
. Providing advice and guidance to senior leaders during a live BCDR incident to enable them to make well informed decisions
. Working at and challenging and influencing at executive/senior management level, including writing and presenting reports
. Experience and knowledge of BCDR management strategies to drive forward improvements within an organisational business.
. Developing and delivering reports and presenting at senior management.
. Designing and delivering training packages/workshops to all staff including senior management/board level.
. Ability and confidence to question and advise a range of key stakeholders on risk at all levels of seniority
. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and ability to carry out task within Excel such as conditional formatting.

Desirable skills
. Knowledge of HMT guidance on BCDR.
. Understanding and practical application of a diverse range of Strategic and Operational Business Continuity areas relevant to DBS.
. Prince 2 Practitioner or Agile Project Management.
. Emergency Planning, Crisis Management and Business Continuity Planning
. Membership of the Business Continuity Institute
. Data visualisation and analysis.
