The launch of their brand-new manufacturing and logistics site in Northampton we are looking to recruit a Loading Team Leader on a permanent basis.

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Loading Team Leader reports directly to the Fleet and Loading Supervisor, within the Transport Department, and is responsible for the management of the loading operation and supporting the Transport department with the day-to-day management of their area. Ensuring a streamlined, effective and efficient loading operation to support the overall business delivery targets. The Loading Team Leader provides leadership and line management to the loading team, coordinating their workloads and offering support, promote loading standards to meet customer requirements. Additionally, the Loading Team Leader develops the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, whilst fostering a culture of working safely.
DUTIES ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Compliance
* Comply with all HSE and company-specific policy and regulations related to loading and to the proper performance of day-to-day activities.
* Follow company procedures for accounting for all items dispatched and recording damages and missing items accurately.
Production
* Ensure that the loading team follow defined Company procedures to ensure loading is completed in line with dispatch targets.
* Understand and actively ensure that loading targets are met. Have good awareness of team output, identifying potential bottlenecks or poor performance and provide support to prevent falling behind.
* Work closely with the Operations teams to monitor and maintain flow levels required to minimise downtime.
* Monitor and record performance and quality KPI’s as directed by company policy and communicate to Transport Department when required or at end of shift.
* Ensure all loading is signed for and audited, in line with Company SOP highlighting areas of concern to the Transport Department.
HSE + Training
* Ensure all work conducted by the loading team is in accordance with good HSE practice.
* Ensure work areas are kept tidy and hazard free.
* Ability to identify knowledge gaps within the team and arrange for appropriate training to take place.
* Provide training sessions for new starters as required.
* Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and reporting. Including, but not limited to, carrying out accident investigations.
* Provide training to other members of the team on the labelling and dispatch process to ensure service levels are maintained during periods of absence.
Leadership
* Planning of daily workload, ensuring that the loading team and company resources are utilised efficiently.
* Communication with other team departments where required to make them aware of issues which may affect their teams.
* Holding morning meetings/team briefs regularly to keep staff informed and participate in daily Transport team morning briefing.
* Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them.
* Challenge non-conformance within own team and MFT staff within loading bay.
* Communicate with the loading team effectively and ensure team members understand the importance of their role in the process and how it can affect other teams.
* Take leadership on vehicle and personnel movements within yard.
Continuous Improvement
* Feedback to the Transport Manager to share ideas and implement continuous improvement activities along with process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements and delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements.
* Assist in the continuous growth of the department using their knowledge and experience of the loading and dispatch process.
* Participate in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc)
* Undertake any training as deemed necessary by the line manager (First aid, IOSH)
* Any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
