HOURS OF WORK: 06:00 – 14:30
JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Shift Manager, the post holder will be responsible for continuously overseeing the efficient running of the department and managing the team.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Organise the team to ensure that the production plan is delivered on a daily basis
* Provide all daily information on production efficiency, non-conformance and waste
* Ensure all team members, both new and existing are trained against and competently comply with departmental Standard Operating Procedures
* Audit all daily checks and ensure they are being carried out
* Ensure all operating procedures are being adhered to
* Ensure all waste is minimised
* Maintain high housekeeping standards for the area of responsibility
* Liaise with other departments where necessary to ensure that the business needs and priorities are met.
* Consider and implement solutions to problems as and when they arise
* Recognise and reward exceptional performance and support the Shift Manager with succession planning for the department
* Challenge non-conformance or poor standards (both product and team members)
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* Must have an excellent attendance record
* Must be flexible with hours of work (i.e. early starts / late finishes)
* Ability to organise both yourself and others
* Ability to communicate with all levels of the Operations Team
* Ability to solve problems
* Previous food manufacturing experience
* Experience of following and amending production plans would be an advantage but not essential
* Previous experience of leading a team
DESIRABLE
* NVQ in Food Manufacturing
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
* Working Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Health & Safety
