An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the Aberdeen City HSCP Hospital at Home (H@H) team based in Woodend Hospital. The team currently provides Hospital Level acute medical care for those experiencing frailty within their own homes. Other Acute speciality patients are joining the Service as it expands.
Hospital at Home is an exciting, rapidly developing service with excellent opportunities to develop as part of the growing Occupational Therapy team. The ability to work independently but also work closely with other professionals within the MDT is key.
Responsibilities
The postholder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside and in conjunction with Consultant Geriatricians, GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, nurses, Physiotherapists, Pharmacy staff, Speech and Language Therapists. Support and supervision and opportunities for continued professional development are provided.
Working Hours & Schedules
The service currently operates 7 days a week with AHPs working 8am to 6pm. Although the post is full time, we are willing to consider part-time candidates. Any part-time applicants wishing to be considered are asked to identify their preferred hours within their application. We would also be willing to consider this as a rotational opportunity (for full time staff), with the potential to be part of a smaller rotation within the frailty/ community loop. If interested in being in a smaller frailty/ community rotation, please note this on application.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the requirements of the person specification to be considered for these posts. All applicants must be able to drive and have access to a car for work purposes and be HCPC registered.
Salary & Benefits
A tax free relocation allowance of up to £8k may be available for those applying for the post on a permanent basis. This would be discussed at interview.
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
