In the Inclusion Mentor role, you will be:
1. Encouraging learner inclusion within their peer groups and supporting them during classroom activities
2. Working with tutors to prepare learning materials, tasks, and record learner progress
3. Reinforcing tutor instructions and providing constructive feedback to help learners meet their targets
4. Assist with transition and orientation including visits for new to college learners
5. Assist with the supervision of learners out of lesson times, including before and after college and at lunchtimes where necessary
6. Assist the College Nurse, Learning Support Co-Ordinators to monitor and review medical support plans
7. Provide out of class supervised quiet time/work space in Study Centres within Library+ to identified learners
8. Provide Personal Care support where required
9. Provide support to learners in more specialist areas of learning; Communication and Interaction, Physical / Medical, Specific Additional Learning Needs and / or, Sensory Needs
10. Attending relevant meetings with tutors and support teams and contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment
11. Carrying out any other reasonable duties in line with the role and organisational policies
To be successful, you will need:
12. Relevant qualifications and experience supporting individuals in an educational, care or similar setting
13. Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour
14. An empathetic approach and an understanding of the challenges faced by young people with additional learning needs
15. Good communication and IT skills
16. A current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
17. Welsh Speaking Desirable
18. EWC registration, an Enhanced DBS, and proof of right to work in the UK are required
This is a temporary position for a long term period up to February 2026, with a potential to be extended until the end of the academic year. You'll be working part time, 26 hours per week, Mondays - Thursdays 9am - 4:30pm. You'll be starting on an hourly pay rate of £12.84 per hour, plus weekly pay, holiday accrual and other benefits and based in the Bangor area.
