Part Time Accounts & Payroll Administrator
£40, pro rata
Romford, Essex
22.5 hours per week | 3 days, 9am-5pm or 5 days 9:30am-2pm


Our client is a successful and well-established construction company known for its friendly culture and commitment to delivering high quality projects. This role is a key position supporting the business on a part time basis across payroll, accounts, and HR administration, ensuring all financial and people processes run smoothly and accurately. It's perfect for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and being at the heart of daytoday operations.


Duties will include:



1. Accurately inputting timesheets into the internal system

2. Preparing and running the monthly payroll using Sage Payroll

3. Managing C.I.S returns and ensuring full HMRC compliance

4. Processing purchase and sales invoices in a timely and accurate manner

5. Reconciling bank accounts, HMRC accounts, and credit card statements

6. Preparing supplier payment runs and managing payment schedules

7. Supporting credit control activities, including chasing outstanding debts

8. Completing VAT returns, including Domestic Reverse Charge VAT

9. Daily use of Sage and Eque2 for finance and reporting tasks

10. Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting management with any ad hoc reporting

11. Managing staff holiday requests and maintaining accurate records

12. Administering the company pension scheme

13. Handling staff expenses and ensuring compliance with company policies

14. Providing HR administration support, including issuing offer letters, employment contracts, pay rise notifications, and other HR related correspondence

15. Assisting with daytoday administrative duties to support the wider team



The ideal candidate:



16. Previous experience in payroll, accounts or general finance admin essential

17. Well organised and able to handle a variety of tasks and deadlines

18. Good communicator with strong attention to detail skills

19. Happy working independently and supporting the wider team
