Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie or Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting the overall operation of the restaurant's kitchen. Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
* Assist in the supervision of junior kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow
* Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations
* Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
* Collaborate with the head chef to develop new menu items and improve existing dishes
* Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
* Serve food to guests when required, maintaining professionalism and courtesy at all times
* Support the training of new team members in kitchen procedures and safety protocols
Requirements
* Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant environment
* Strong culinary skills with a good understanding of meal preparation techniques
* Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
* Previous experience working in a busy kitchen or restaurant setting is highly desirable
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
* Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
* Relevant kitchen qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential
