Marketing Manager
Salary: £30,000 dependent on qualifications / experience
Location: Edgbaston/Hybrid working

Hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00

Mica is a co-operative group of independent retailers in the DIY, Home & Garden trade, working for the benefit of its members in a range of ways including group buying, marketing and instore support. Originally setup from a South African model in 1996 the company is now a division of the British Independent Retailers Association, giving the group access to greater depth of resources and services for its retailers. The cooperative is a stalwart of the independent sector with stores in all four nations of the United Kingdom.
The position:An exciting opportunity to join a national group in a head office managerial role, reporting into the National Operations Manager. You would be working for a company with a cooperative ethos that looks after its staff, as well as its retailers. This position, unlike many advertised as marketing is not sales related and the salary is not dependent on commission. There is an opportunity for the successful candidate to grow in this role and progress to a more senior position in the future.

Location:
Based in Edgbaston with hybrid working once established into the role.
* The production of traditional & digital marketing material
* Manage our contracts with the Royal Mail & Third Party Printers
* Event planning
* Website content management
* Event planning
* Company newsletter, and interim digital updates
* Bespoke copywriting including press releases
* Skilled in InDesign, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Experienced in photoshop
* Creative flair with an eye for a good idea
* Copywriting with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Be organised and able to meet deadlines
* The ability to train and educate junior staff in marketing related matters
* Good communicator including excellent telephone manner
* Knowledge of MS Access & Adobe programs other than adobe
* Understanding of common & effective Social Media strategies
* Knowledge of DIY industry / products (not essential)
* 5 GCSE's or equivalent, to include England and Maths
As the Manager of the Marketing Dept, we're looking for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and help the business to continue producing high-quality marketing materials for its members. You should be fully immersed in the world of marketing and advertising, but hopefully also want to work for an organisation that wants to be a force for good in the world. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic and work well as part of a team.
