Location: London/Guildford/Bournemouth (Hybrid)
Role Description
The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the general operational tasks of the Reinsurance team. It will join a small team in the handling of the reinsurance requirements of Allianz Holdings plc, including facultative and treaty placements and claims recoveries thereon.
Key accountabilities
* Review and revise contract wordings to ensure the required coverage is obtained/afforded.
* Produce and deliver our Reinsurance information, including:
* Identifying and requesting the appropriate data from the various business areas
* Recommending the best presentation of numerical data into a central report
* Utilise new and existing data reports to best show the development of our accounts
demonstrate and compare the movement of exposures and rating
* Liaise with our reinsurance brokers and reinsurers in order to distribute Reinsurance information and exchange views on subjects that are important to our own account
* Liaise with internal customers (e.g. account management, reinsurance accounts, actuarial, claims, Risk) to ensure that they receive the information they require and maintain confidence in our processes
* Monitoring and notification of claims, including movements and adjustments. Apply treaty limitations and aggregates, together with contract cover and exclusions, to calculate claim recoveries
* Update and maintain reinsurance related manuals, processes and governance documentation, including various Group and/or regulatory reinsurance returns.
* Provide support as appropriate to other activities undertaken within the Finance division
Skills & Experience
Technical skills
* A good technical knowledge of reinsurance, including policy contract wordings, to enable
o interpretation of existing wordings
o construction and drafting of new contracts
o discussion with legal department to obtain sign-off
* Understand original policy conditions and claims handling procedures in order to establish the impact on a reinsurance contract.
* Thorough, with a meticulous eye for detail.
* Able to undertake numerical analysis and reporting of company performance and statistical information
* Highly competent with MS Office – in particular Excel and Word to enable the collation and production of accurate data and reports
Qualifications
ACII qualified, or progress towards.
Experience
* Strong experience in reinsurance, ideally across Property, Liability and Motor classes .
* Comfortable and able to influence at all levels of seniority, including face to face dealings with internal/external customers.
* Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
* Good organisational and administrative ability including effective time management, to ensure all matters of work are identified and progressed to the required conclusion
* Enthusiastic, positive and with proven people skills.
* Able to work well in a variety of situations, both alone and with teams, in order to deliver appropriately against priorities.
