We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist for a 9-month Fixed-Term position to join our Global Security team at the Abingdon, UK location. In this role, you will develop and implement health, safety, and environmental compliance programs, collaborating with various teams such as Security, Legal, People, Spectacles, and Workplace Services.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement EHS programs, policies, and procedures in collaboration with site leadership and cross-functional partners.
2. Ensure compliance with federal and local environmental and occupational safety standards through assessments and corrective actions.
3. Coordinate compliance inspections and support external audits.
4. Inspect workplaces for hazards, assess risks, and work with teams to mitigate them.
5. Develop and deliver EHS training at the site level.
6. Respond to emergencies, incidents, and accidents, managing emergency procedures and response teams.
7. Track and report on EHS performance indicators.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Knowledge of emergency planning, fire and life safety, manufacturing safety, and waste management.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Self-motivated with a results-oriented approach and limited supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in an EHS-related discipline or equivalent experience.
* At least 3 years of experience in environmental health and safety.
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or cleanroom environments.
* Knowledge of ISO 14001/45001 standards.
* Working towards NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma.
* National Vocational Qualification (NVQ).
