An opportunity has arisen for a Secondment Lead Nurse in our Emergency department - this is to support the quality and safety agenda and to ensure that our paediatric patients receive a high quality of care at the National standard. Their main responsibilities will be the line management of staff within the department and development of paediatric pathways.
The post holder will be expected to support the Paediatric and Adult Department with the day to day operational running of the whole department.
The post holder will be required to carry out a full range of practical procedures from their speciality during their clinical time within the Emergency Department and have the high standards of communication skills which will provide assurance to all aspects of management, leadership and quality of care.

To provide support and supervision for staff and looking for ways to maintain well-being within the department
To help develop pathways to facilitate appropriate admissions, and timely discharge to meet the needs of the service.
To take responsibility for proactively developing, implementing and reviewing clinical practices to ensure that they are safe and cost effective.
To assist the matron to manage the overall paediatric budget.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Berkshire Emergency Department leadership team as a Lead Nurse
They will work along side two Adult Lead Nurses and a Paediatric Lead Nurse to help effectively lead, motivate, supervise and direct staff to ensure that time and resources are managed across the whole department through teamwork.
