Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Based close to Diss, Norfolk
Working hours: Monday to Friday - Full time hours
Rate of pay: £45,000 per annum
Capacity of role: Permanent position
Responsibilities
* Convert conceptual ideals into practical designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD design packages.
* Create prototypes to test designs and gather feedback to refine the final product range.
* Manage costs during the design and production process.
* Maintain detailed records of design processes and specifications.
* Compile bills of materials for the production process to ensure that the correct materials are ordered for the product range.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Previous experience as a Design Engineer or a similar role.
* Working experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD software.
* Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a design.
* Ability to present in front of stakeholders and managers.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
Applicant must have worked in a similar position previously and be conversant with 2D/3D practices.
