A new specialist secondary school for students aged 11–16 with Autism-related needs opens in September 2025. The school offers a tailored curriculum, small classes, and strong therapeutic support.
About the Role:
Join as SENDCo to help shape the school from the ground up. You’ll lead on SEND provision, curriculum, assessment, careers, and transitions, working closely with the Head of School. Occasional travel to a nearby satellite site is required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead SEND strategy and EHCP delivery
* Oversee curriculum planning and staff CPD
* Manage access arrangements and exams
* Coordinate careers education and post-16 transitions
* Liaise with families, agencies, and external partners
* Support strategic development and school improvement
Essential Qualifications:
* QTS or QTLS
Desirable Qualifications:
* Training in Autism, Dyslexia, etc.
* Leadership/management qualification
* NPQSL/NPQH/SENDCo (or willingness to complete within 2 years)
Essential Experience:
* Strong teaching background in SEND or relevant key stages
* Experience turning policy into practice
* Leadership in inclusion or school improvement
* Effective team and conflict management
* Skilled communicator across audiences
* Successful collaboration with external agencies
