About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team. The role is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, with additional support to the HR function across a range of administrative activities.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience who enjoys variety and working closely with HR colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
* Process monthly/weekly payroll accurately and on time
* Ensure compliance with HMRC and statutory requirements, including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments
* Process starters, leavers, salary changes and deductions
* Respond to payroll-related queries from employees in a timely and professional manner
* Preparation of month end journal to include in the accounting ledgers
* Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity
HR Administration
* Maintain and update employee records on HR and payroll systems
* Support the onboarding process, including issuing contracts and collecting right to work documentation
* Carry out employment reference checks in line with company procedures
* Book and coordinate training courses, maintaining accurate training records
* Provide general HR administrative support as required
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in a payroll administration role
* Good working knowledge of UK payroll legislation
* Experience of HR administration tasks is desirable
* Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
* Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Competent user of payroll and HR systems and Microsoft Office
