Here at Langdons, we have an amazing opportunity for a Head of Compliance & Sustainability to join our team. This role will be based at our Head Office in Bridgwater. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, working Monday- Friday, 37.5 hours a week and in return, you will receive a highly competitive salary of £70'000 per annum. The Head of Compliance & Sustainability role: To lead and manage the company’s health & safety, quality assurance and risk departments. What you’ll be doing as our Head of Compliance & Sustainability: Key Responsibilities: Oversee the daily work of the Claims, Health and Safety and Quality Assurance Teams. Develop, maintain, and implement the Quality, Health and Safety and Claims systems and ensure that safety practices are adopted and adhered to by all colleagues. Ensure company insurance standards and policy requirements are met for all 3 areas of the business. Reporting of data/information to both Group and the various regulatory agencies e.g. Moving Green Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Reporting. Meet with insurers on a periodic basis to review claims related activity and identify areas for continuous improvement. Ensure all relevant information is passed to external authorities where required in accordance with GDPR Regulations. Coach and develop company managers and directors to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met, and sector best practice is considered in shaping and informing business strategy and business decisions. Ensure all relevant colleagues are made aware of current and future insurance policy requirements and their associated responsibilities to ensure ongoing compliance with required standards Ensure all relevant colleagues are suitably trained and made aware of current and future regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing compliance with required standards Ensure all risk management related information and associated procedures are fully shared and documented, accessible, updated and fit for purpose Works in conjunction with key colleagues and external authorities to ensure workplace audits and investigations are conducted accordingly and any follow up and preventative action is taken Ensure staff team is fully competent and ongoing development is promoted and best practices are shared across the company Commit to continuous personal and professional development and reflective practice and encourage others to do the same Resolve complex customer-related complaints, ensuring an appropriate and timely follow-up and any learning outcomes are shared with relevant teams and best practices are consistently applied Collaborate with company-wide colleagues to identify and develop streamlined digitally-enabled business processes Consult with staff and their representatives where required to ensure a positive and inclusive working environment is promoted and staff engagement is maximised, making any proposals for improvement to the Board of Directors Arrange, chair and attend company events and meetings for staff and customers where required. What qualifications and experience are we looking for in our Head of Compliance & Sustainability? Level 5 in Insurance, Risk Management, Quality Management and Leadership or Management of Health & Safety in the Workplace and Leadership NEBOSH/ IOSH Extensive experience of delivering successful results within the Logistics sector or a customer-orientated industry Proven experience in a senior leadership role involving multiple and dispersed staff teams. Additional Requirements: Must be a commutable distance from Bridgwater Head Office. Ability to travel regularly to all sites across the UK and some overseas travel to France Work flexibly in accordance with operational requirements, including participation in an on-call management rota.
