Prospero Teaching are seeking a compassionate and experienced teacher to deliver a KS2 curriculum to KS3 students at a SEND school in Bournemouth. This position is full time and can offer temporary to permanent employment. As a SEND teacher, you will:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of students.
2. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
3. Record student progress.
4. Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
5. Record attendance.
6. Be organised, dependable and creative.
7. Be calm, fair and adaptable.
About you:
8. Experience working with young people in UK schools
9. Background in SEN education or alternative provision- desirable but not essential
10. Confident delivering KS2 curriculum
11. Empathetic, reliable, and calm under pressure
12. Able to build trusting relationships and foster a love of learning
13. Experience of working with young people with SEND
Contract information:
14. Location – Bournemouth, Hampshire
15. Position – SEND teacher
16. Contract or position start date – September 2025
17. Duration / Likely Duration – Permanent
18. Full time/part time – Full time
19. Minimum rate of pay – Paid to scale
20. Hours – 8:30 am – 4 pm, plus parents evenings and department meetings.
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
21. Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
22. Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
23. Hold right to work in the UK
24. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
25. Provide references upon request
26. Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
