Applications are invited for the post of Desktop Delivery Engineer to provide support to the Trust’s desktop environment. The role is part of the Desktop Delivery Team and the position is based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
This 2nd Line IT Support role is part of a wider support team that looks after 10,000 users across HHFT.
We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic person to join our team who has excellent customer service skills. A good, calm, reassuring manner is essential with a strong attention to detail. You will take a variety of support calls, aiming to fix all technical issues remotely or in person via proactive floorwalking. A natural flair for problem solving is a must.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 2nd line support for desktop environment.
* Resolve technical issues remotely and on site, including proactive floorwalking.
* Use remote control tools and a computerised HelpDesk/Service Desk to manage incidents.
* Liaise with third‑party suppliers regarding bespoke hospital applications.
* Collaborate with the Desktop Delivery Manager and team members to improve services.
* Identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost‑effective technology solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
* Good knowledge of MS Windows OS, Active Directory, SCCM, Windows Defender / LAPS / Encryption, WIFI and PC/Laptop & Printer hardware.
* Experience with Microsoft Office / M365 and single sign‑on solutions.
* Previous 2nd line Service Desk experience with a range of technical skills.
* Proficiency in using a computerised HelpDesk/Service Desk and Remote Control Support Tools.
* Knowledge of ITIL processes and Wireless technologies is advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills and a team‑player attitude.
