Mechanical Engineering Foreman
Job location: Near Wyke Regis, Dorset.
Job type: Permanent.
Salary: £15.83–£20.36 per hour (£35,000–£45,000 per annum).
Hours: 42.5 per week, 8am–5pm Monday to Friday.
Overtime paid at premium rates (x1.5, x2).

A leading specialist mechanical engineering company with a reputation for experience, expertise and high workmanship is recruiting a Foreman to join the business.
Role Overview
The role involves hands‑on engineering work while acting as the link between management and the engineering team, ensuring all work is carried out correctly and on time, and providing support and guidance to the crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in organising and overseeing day‑to‑day workshop operation.
- Communicate with Managers, Service Department and provide regular updates on workshop activities.
- Ensure parts are ready for technicians.
- Ensure work is undertaken professionally and correctly.
- Carry out quality control checks.
- Serve as first point of escalation for technical queries from team members.
- Prevent and minimise careless use of equipment and materials.
- Keep workshop tools and equipment in good working order.
- Maintain housekeeping, tidying and health & safety regulations and policies.
- Complete any other tasks as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Skilled engineer or mechanic with team leadership, supervisory or foreman experience.
- Prior experience with mechanical vehicles, HGVs, mechanical equipment, plant, machinery, marine or hydraulics.
- Relevant formal qualifications or training (Apprenticeship, City & Guilds / NVQ, HNC / HND in engineering).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
