What’s in it for you?
Your starting salary will be £27,300 pa, increasing to £28,350 after 12 months, and to £32,288 upon 3 years’ service. We support your progression through your PCO Portfolio or PCO Apprenticeship, which can raise your salary to £32,288 within 12 to 18 months. Additionally, we offer:
* Opportunity to earn approximately £37,800 including overtime (based on an average of 4 hours per week, though not guaranteed)
* Clear career pathways into operational management roles with salaries from £36,000 to £42,000

As a Prison Officer, you'll ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of everyone. Your role involves:
* Supervising prisoners during wing activities
* Overseeing work and education programs
* Handling operational tasks like headcounts, searches, security, and admin
* Managing prisoners at risk of self-harm
Our shifts cover 24/7, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a rota that promotes work-life balance.
Preparing for your recruitment journey:
You will complete an online assessment, followed by a virtual interview, and then a visit with basic Maths and English tests. Successful candidates attend a 10-week training, including classroom and shadowing, earning a Diploma in Custodial Care, First Aid, and Control & Restraint training.

* This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and subject to security checks and references.
