Experience
* Proven experience in safety, security, or fire safety management.
* Strong understanding of fire risk principles.
* Experience managing and training multi-site or large teams.
* Competence in report writing, record keeping, and using safety management systems.
* Experience delivering training and performance improvement programs.
* History of working collaboratively with statutory bodies and emergency services.
Competencies / Qualifications
* Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations calmly and professionally.
* Ability to work well with others, make clear decisions, and deliver results under pressure.
* IOSH Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent (desirable).
* Fire Marshal / Fire Warden certification (desirable).
* Incident Command or Emergency Response training (desirable).
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee deployment, supervision, and performance of Waking Watch staff.
- Conduct regular shift briefings, patrol audits, and spot checks to ensure compliance with KPIs.
- Coordinate and monitor response to alarms, incidents, and resident concerns.

* Line management to the EVML waking watch supervisors
* To meet regularly with the H&S team
* Edit and amend current SOPS as changes occur
Compliance & Documentation
- Review patrol logs, incident reports, and training matrix.
- Ensure all statutory checks, drills, and audits are completed and documented.
- Support preparation for inspections by fire authorities and other regulators.
Training & Development
- Deliver and coordinate induction training for new Waking Watch staff.
- Implement ongoing refresher training programs and competency assessments.
- Address performance issues through coaching and structured improvement plans.
Risk Management
- Conduct hazard identification and site inspections.
- Liaise with contractors, engineers, and the local fire service as required.
Resident & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide clear communication to building management, contractors, and emergency services.
- Support resident safety meetings and awareness initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* 100% completion of daily patrol logs and safety documentation.
* Zero missed patrols or unreported incidents.
* 100% completion of required training for all staff.
* Positive resident safety feedback and reduced safety-related complaints.
* Timely closure of all Over-C actions.
