Role Description
As a Freelance Optometrist at Ace & Tate, you will provide comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments to customers in our London Area, United Kingdom locations. You will be expected perform refractions and ocular health checks while following clinical guidelines and local regulations.
You will explain test results and recommendations in clear, accessible language, ensuring each customer understands their options and feels supported in their choices.
You will collaborate closely with in-store teams to align prescriptions with frame selection, advise on lens options, and maintain accurate patient records.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining high hygiene and safety standards, supporting smooth store operations during busy periods, and staying updated on advances in optometry and optical products.
Qualifications
GOC registration
* with eligibility to practice and professional indemnity coverage.
* Strong clinical skills in refraction, and ocular health screening, with a commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, explain clinical findings clearly, and provide inclusive, respectful customer care.
* Ability to work collaboratively with store teams, contribute to a positive workplace culture, and support seamless handover from clinical care to frame and lens selection.
* Comfort working in a fast-paced retail clinical environment, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail in record-keeping and appointment management.
* Flexibility, including weekends, and willingness to adapt to changing customer needs.
* Interest in eyewear design, fashion, and customer experience, with a proactive attitude toward learning about new lens technologies and product offerings.
* Previous experience in a retail optometry or high-street optical setting is beneficial.
