We’re seeking a dedicated Workplace Supervisor to join our Commercial, Property, and Procurement team. North Yorkshire Council’s Property and Land Estate consists of over 3,000 land and property assets over a geographical area of 3,341sq miles, including operational offices, operational buildings delivering front line services, farmland, and private, residential, and commercial holdings. North Yorkshire Council work with several partners, such as the Local Police Force and the NHS, to support land and building requirements. As a Workplace Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in overseeing security, maintenance (including minor decoration), compliance, and health & safety for a diverse portfolio of properties. This includes libraries, educational and learning centres, administrative hubs. You’ll also provide occasional out-of-hours emergency call-out support when needed. What will you be doing? Managing regional operational properties to ensure safe, compliant, and welcoming environments. Supporting the Council’s transformation programme by evolving workplaces to meet the changing needs of service delivery. Collaborating with various services, stakeholders, and external customers to deliver effective workplace solutions. Provide operational support [SH1] [SH2] to ensure that the Council’s Workplaces provide safe and fit for purpose environments for service delivery and management. You will be based at County Hall and will work across the Northallerton District and may have to work in the Richmond area on occasion. What are we looking for? Experience in the operational management of a property portfolio. In-depth knowledge of statutory requirements and best practices for property maintenance and building services compliance. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including risk management. Experience managing onsite contractors. Background in building/facilities management within a property portfolio. Ability to identify and manage risks effectively.
