Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for qualified Social Workers to join our Children with Disabilities and Children's Transitions Teams.
There are both full-time and part-time opportunities available. Please specify your preference in your application.
Cheshire West and Chester Council is a place where everyone can Thrive – through our core values of Teamwork, Honesty, Respect, Innovation, Value for Money, and Empowerment.
The Children with Disabilities team works closely with the Children’s Transition Team to ensure seamless transitions for young people. We adopt an early help approach to children with disabilities to ensure they receive appropriate support at the right level of need. Our focus is on providing the best care and support. The team is proud to be Makaton friendly and engages in regular sign and dine sessions to develop this skill.
Ideally, you will have a minimum of several months post-qualifying experience and will have completed your ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year of Employment).
We seek experienced, committed, creative, and resilient Social Workers to join our teams.
We provide a supportive and collaborative working environment in modern offices, with excellent management support and opportunities for career development.
We offer regular practice development sessions and reflection opportunities.
Enjoy a good work-life balance with flexible and remote working arrangements.
Benefits include free parking, payment of Social Work England Registration, competitive salaries, up to 25 days of flexi time per year, and annual leave ranging from 25 to 30 days depending on service length.
Our Children's Social Care workforce is dedicated to improving outcomes for children, providing high-quality services, and fostering strong partnerships. We promote shared learning and development, and support creative and informed decision-making with children and families.
This is an ongoing recruitment; applications are considered as received, so apply early.
Required experience includes assessment and planning in child in need, child protection, or working with children under Care Proceedings or who are 'looked after'.
See the Job Description / Person Specification for details.
Our social workers report feeling supported, valued, and part of a team, with access to excellent training and career progression opportunities. Managers are approachable and compassionate, encouraging creativity and excellence.
We invest in professional development, with many senior staff progressing within the organization.
Cheshire West Council offers flexible working arrangements to support work/life balance, including hybrid working and technological support.
Our leadership team is experienced and committed to improving children’s outcomes across the borough.
