Forde Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a busy timber manufacturing operation.
This role is ideal for candidates with a background in furniture, timber products, woodworking machinery, or manufacturing maintenance who are looking for a stable, long-term opportunity.
The Role
Youll be responsible for keeping production machinery running efficiently through planned maintenance, fault finding, and repairs, helping to minimise downtime across site.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
* Diagnose faults and repair manufacturing machinery
* Develop and improve maintenance schedules
* Maintain maintenance records and spare parts stock
* Support continuous improvement projects
* Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently
* Promote and follow Health & Safety procedures at all times
Machinery Experience (Desirable)
* Saws
* Edge banders
* CNC machinery
* Timber processing equipment
What Were Looking For
* Previous maintenance experience within timber, furniture, or manufacturing
* Strong mechanical skills with basic electrical knowledge
* Ability to work independently and solve problems quickly
* Proactive and reliable approach to maintenance work
Hours
* Monday to Thursday: 8am 4pm
* Friday: 8am 3pm
