Offer description

Overview

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing? We have some brand-new roles for the Coventry and Warwickshire Mental Health in Schools Teams (MHST). MHSTs are an early intervention and prevention service that support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children, young people and families who are linked to schools and colleges settings. We are growing rapidly and are in a time of development and expansion as we are expected to support 100% of schools by 2029/30.

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust have a vision for our MHSTs which includes exciting new opportunities for registered Nurses with experience of working with young people and mental health difficulties. If you have a passion to build positive relationships and have a curiosity to respond to the mental health needs of our children and young people in educational settings, these roles may be for you.

The service is running "Let's Talk MHST" information sessions for prospective candidates on Monday the 11th and Wednesday the 13th of August. The sessions will begin at 17:00 and are an opportunity to discover more about the service and its current expansion. To book onto either of these sessions please email risecommunityoffer@covwarkpt.nhs.uk or call 07917504682 to request a link to the meeting.

Responsibilities

* Work as a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse within a multidisciplinary Mental Health Support Team (MHST), delivering timely, evidence-based mental health care to children, young people, and their families across educational and community settings.

The role requires confident clinical decision-making and the ability to deliver short-term, impactful interventions that promote early access and prevent escalation.
* Provide supervision, guidance, and informal support to junior staff and trainees, contributing to service development, audit, and quality improvement. May also support delivery of the Whole School Approach (WSA) by engaging in mental health promotion, psychoeducation, and collaborative initiatives within schools.
* Collaborate with Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust to deliver a wide range of physical, mental health, learning disability and autism services across Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond.
