Angel and Star is recruiting mental health support workers with guaranteed hours in the Manchester area
As a Mental Health Support Worker in a supported living environment, you will provide person-centred support to individuals with mental health needs, promoting their independence and well-being. You will assist residents in their daily activities, support their recovery journey, and help them achieve their personal goals within a safe and supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Personalized Support: Assist residents with daily living tasks, which can include meal preparation, personal care, trips to the park and household chores, tailored to individual needs.
* Emotional Assistance: Offer empathetic support to help residents manage their mental health conditions, fostering resilience and coping strategies.
* Care Planning: Participate in developing and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
* Community Engagement: Encourage and facilitate residents' participation in community activities to promote social inclusion.
* Advocacy: Support residents in expressing their needs and preferences, ensuring their voices are heard in care decisions.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential:
* Health and Social Care experience .
* Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions.
Key Skills and Attributes
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Empathy, patience, and resilience.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
* Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Working Conditions
* Shift work, including nights and weekends, may be required.
