A Personal Assistant is required to support a happy and sociable eight‑year‑old autistic girl with a Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profile, living in Troon. A PA is required to provide 1:1 support in the home and out in the community, helping her access social opportunities and engage in activities that support her development. This role includes supporting her to develop and build her independence, as well as strengthen her social skills with other children her age. She loves being outdoors and enjoys swimming pools, although she cannot swim yet. She has a fear of dogs. She enjoys riding bikes and skating, and she responds well to fun, low‑pressure activities. She is chatty, lovable, and has a great sense of humour. Three hours per week are available, with flexibility around when these hours are used. Weekend and school holiday availability is required. This is a rewarding opportunity to help a young person grow in confidence, gain independence, and enjoy positive experiences in both home and community settings. The rate of pay starts at £13.45 per hour. Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people is essential. A full driving licence is desirable. The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
