Our client is a well-known and reputable HGV dealership with several depots across Southeast of England. Currently they are looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic to work in their Exeter depot.Hours of work:Early / Late shift patternTo carry out inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of HGVs and trailers, ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and roadworthy in line with DVSA and company standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailersDiagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and manual checksCarry out MOT preparations and inspectionsRepair or replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic componentsEnsure all work complies with DVSA regulations and health & safety standardsComplete job cards, inspection sheets, and maintenance records accuratelyRespond to breakdowns and roadside repairs when requiredWork closely with the workshop team to meet deadlines and minimise vehicle downtimeMaintain a clean, safe, and organised working environmentSkills & Experience RequiredProven experience as an HGV Technician or Heavy Vehicle MechanicStrong diagnostic and fault-finding skillsGood understanding of HGV systems (brakes, suspension, electrics, engines)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamAttention to detail and commitment to high safety standardsFlexible approach to working hours (shift work/overtime may be required)Qualifications & LicencesNVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & RepairHGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence (desirable but not always essential)MOT Tester qualification (desirable)Working ConditionsWorkshop-based with occasional roadside workMay involve shift patterns, nights, or weekendsUse of tools, diagnostic equipment, and lifting gearThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic who would like to progress within the company and get first class training.
