Are you an Occupational Therapist keen to take on the challenge of further developing your clinical and leadership skills? Have you ever considered working in mental health? If so this job is for you:

We are looking for an individual to join our Specialist team to further develop this post within our service. We hope you will relish the opportunity to enhance and shape our service for the future through using your skills and experience to meet the needs of people in Fife.

Our dedicated team of Occupational Therapists and healthcare support workers work with the people of Fife aged 65 years and over who are experiencing mental health problems. The posts are based in a variety of locations in order to contribute to and oversee delivery of Occupational Therapy within both community and in-patient settings, and to ensure agility to prioritise clinical risk and demand across the Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service.

We are keen to hear from both existing Band 6 Occupational Therapists, and Band 5 Occupational Therapists looking to make the next step in their career, who possess the skills, knowledge, and interest to develop professionally and make a positive impact within the field of mental health.

The post will offer you the opportunity to work with a wide range of patients using effective and autonomous clinical decision making and evidence based practices to enable patients to achieve their personal outcomes.

We are a service that is forward thinking and dynamic and are always striving to improve our services for our patients and staff. We are currently engaging in a programme of transformational change and development in line with national and local strategy, standards and priorities for Mental Health and Occupational Therapy services. You would be actively involved in service redesign work and would a key part of re‑shaping the way Occupational Therapy services are developed and delivered in Fife.

We aim to create a supportive work and innovative environment that enables professional and personal development. As well as providing a comprehensive induction programme, we are committed to the provision of protected CPD time, In-service Training, provision of clinical and service development forums, and Fife’s established clinical supervision framework to support you to carry out and develop within your role, and lead and contribute in the development of others.

As a service, we recognise that staff are our biggest assets and we value staff, their wellbeing, safety, creativity and innovation. We promote a culture of openness, honesty, transparency and teamworking where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, care and compassion.

NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. All applicants are required to confirm their right to work in the UK in their application. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK), European Community (EC) or European Economic Area National please state the visa category under which you are legally entitled to work in the UK on your application form and the expiry date of your leave to remain in the UK.

For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licensed Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found in the government website.

It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.

We offer flexible working and family‑friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long‑term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
