SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant - St Albans
110 per day Full-time Umbrella pay DBS required
We're looking for a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a young secondary aged girl at a specialist provision in St Albans. The role starts September and involves one-to-one support across the school day.
About the school:
* Specialist setting catering for secondary pupils with SEMH and associated needs
* Strong pastoral approach, clear routines, and excellent multi-agency support
* Staff are trained in trauma-informed practice and emotional regulation
The role:
* Building trust and consistency with one pupil
* Supporting emotional regulation and focus in lessons
* Encouraging positive choices, social skills, and academic engagement
* Liaising with therapists, parents and key workers
You'll need:
* Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, trauma, or similar needs
* Boundaries, patience, and a calm, steady presence
* A real belief in second chances and pupil potential
