About The Role
Global Environmental are partnering with Kier Facilities to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join their team as an Apprentice Asbestos Surveyor. You’ll gain hands-on experience, industry-recognised qualifications, and a clear progression route into a full-time surveying role.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You will be working as part of a supportive team, gaining practical experience on live projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting qualified surveyors on-site during inspections
2. Helping to identify suspected asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in buildings
3. Recording photographic evidence and writing observations using a tablet
4. Learning how to take and prepare material samples for laboratory analysis
5. Developing your understanding of safety regulations and industry best practice
6. Communicating professionally with team members and clients
7. Preparing for and completing your BOHS P402 qualification
The training you will be getting
8. On-the-job training with experienced asbestos surveyors over a 6-month period
9. A 2-day intensive classroom course followed by the BOHS P402 examination
10. Training includes both academic and practical elements
11. After qualifying, you'll be audited by our internal Quality Manager before progressing into a full-time role
12. Support with key professional skills including communication, digital skills, health & safety, and problem solving
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
13. A permanent, full-time role as a Lead Asbestos Surveyor
14. Salary increases to £23,000 post-qualification, and to £25,000 after your probation period
15. A company vehicle and credit card for work-related travel and expenses
16. Ongoing development and progression opportunities within the business
About You

Desired qualifications:
23. GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) preferred
Future prospects:
24. Long-term progression into senior surveying or environmental consultancy roles

You must be based within reasonable travel distance of Heathrow / West London.
You must hold a full UK driving licence to progress into the qualified role.
