About the role As our Finance and Data Lead, you will be at the core of a service that manages over 230,000 tonnes of waste a year, with an annual net revenue budget of £45m. These high-value contracts shape how waste is collected, treated, and reduced across Wiltshire. These services also have a significant and tangible role to play in helping tackle climate change and reduce carbon emissions. Your responsibilities will include: Lead on financial planning, forecasting, and performance reporting Make sure business decisions are backed by solid data and insight Spot trends, understand the impact of any changes in waste tonnage, and help us stay ahead of legislative shifts, and maximising new income opportunities Work closely with senior leaders, providing advice that shapes strategy and policy From analysing tonnage data to validating invoices and preparing reports for Cabinet, your work will have a real impact on the council, Wiltshire residents, and our shared environment. About you Strong financial experience Excellent analytical skills Experience supporting and getting the most out of your team, and a clear, confident approach to communication Relationship-building skills Some evening and weekend work is part of the role, and PPE is required when visiting operational sites.
