As a Specialist Clinical Respiratory & Sleep Physiologist at Cromwell Hospital, you’ll play a senior role in our busy respiratory and sleep clinics. You’ll champion clinical excellence, support the daily running of both labs, and contribute to the development of world-class services. How you’ll help us make health happen
1. Deliver a comprehensive range of respiratory diagnostics for adult and paediatric patients, including lung function testing, allergy, bronchial provocation studies, and assisting with advanced procedures such as CPET, HPVT, and fitness-to-fly assessments.
2. Provide specialist sleep and ventilation services, including polygraphy, polysomnography, CPAP/NIV support, and advanced sleep investigations such as MSLT, actigraphy, and TcCO₂ monitoring.
3. Support documentation development and implementation for procedures and equipment.
4. Oversee routine calibration and maintenance of diagnostic equipment.
5. Share accountability for stock control and inventory management.
6. Act as a role model and mentor for junior staff, supporting training and team development.
7. Collaborate with consultants, nurses, physiotherapists, engineers, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
8. Contribute to service growth and development aligned with hospital expansion.
9. Maintain high clinical standards and patient-centred care across all procedures.
10. Support governance, incident reporting, and quality assurance in line with hospital policies.
Key Skills / Qualifications
11. BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology or equivalent specialist training.
12. Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in respiratory and diagnostics.
13. Registration with RCCP, AHCS, or equivalent; ARTP membership or RPSGT certification desirable.
14. Strong communication and analytical skills.
15. Experience working with both adult and paediatric patients.
16. Understanding of private healthcare service delivery.
17. Teaching experience and a collaborative, growth-oriented mindset.
