The Role
The successful applicant will operate under the guidance of senior teaching staff, stepping in to deliver pre:set, high:quality lessons and supervising whole classes. Its a role where consistency, high expectations, and a supportive presence are key to student achievement. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a progressive academy in Leeds on a permanent basis, starting ASAP. This vital role is about maintaining the continuity and quality of education for students across Key Stages 3 and 4 during teacher absences.

Requirements
* Proven experience working with young people, ideally within an educational setting.
* Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness for one)
Required Skills
* Exceptional behaviour management and classroom control techniques.
* Strong verbal communication and ability to present clearly to groups of students.
* Ability to quickly establish fair, trusting, and constructive relationships with students.
* Proactive and committed to collaboration within a team.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail for record keeping.
* Competence in using ICT to support learning activities.
Responsibilities
* Provide cover supervision for both the long and short:term absence of teachers.
* Direct and supervise students to complete the work set, maintaining appropriate records for absent teachers.
* Deliver high:quality cover lessons and bespoke small group or one:to:one interventions.
* Actively uphold high expectations of all learners, committing to their full educational potential.
* Establish a productive, respectful, and appropriate learning environment in all lessons.
* Monitor and evaluate student responses to learning activities, providing feedback to the absent teacher.
* Carry out invigilation of internal and external examinations, assisting students with specific needs.
* Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom and encourage co:operative work.
* Contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the academy by attending relevant meetings and training.
* Cover for Guardians (Form Tutors) when required, registering students and promoting their well:being and attendance.
