POP MART, founded in 2010 (SEHK: 9992), is a market-leading entertainment company and a global champion of designer toy culture. Through global artist development, IP operations, designer toy culture evangelism, and strategic investments, we have built an integrated platform covering the entire designer toy value chain, allowing artists to focus solely on their craft and giving stage to talent from all over the world. Job Overview
Responsible for the creation and execution of assigned concepts in a fast-paced environment with a passion for innovative retail design. The Store Design Manager drives the creative process from direction given by Executive Management, working closely with the Head of the Retail Design, to establish operational needs and develop store environments that meet capacity constraints, cost expectations, and deliver on the brand’s vision. Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams at various levels with outstanding project management and exceptional communication skills.
What You Will Achieve
* Develop new conceptual designs for assigned concepts based on Executive Management.
* Create presentation packages as needed to communicate new or revised designs for assigned concepts.
* Partner with Corporate Operations and Merchant teams to ensure new designs meet corporate objectives. Stay updated on retail trends and materials and present to Head of Design for consideration.
* Manage corporate sign-offs for the Corporate Operations team. Gather and present changing needs of corporate partners to the Head of Design for review and incorporation into approved concepts.
* Work with key internal and external stakeholders during the production of comprehensive design development packages. Develop new or revised fixture designs based on operational needs and present to the Head of Design for approval.
* Partner with the purchasing and construction team to evaluate concepts, review and approve fixture prototypes, and assess new store and remodel construction.
* Visit job sites as needed to ensure concept standards are being met and collaborate with Construction Project Managers to refine details. Review and approve flagship shop layouts and changes as needed.
* Drive and create Schematic Design Packages. Archive completed drawings, red lines, and shop drawings.
* Develop professional skills through software (3D rendering) and management training seminars and classes.
* Develop regional resources—externally by expanding and maintaining a pool of design vendors, and internally by hiring and managing additional team members, based on POP MART’s retail design needs.
What You Will Need
* Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or equivalent with 8+ years’ experience in retail design and 4+ years in team management.
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
* Experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and engineering.
* Ability to foster a collaborative and creative work environment.
* Proactive approach to identifying and solving design challenges.
