Location: Home Park, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, KT1 4AD Hampton Court Palace Golf Club, managed by Get Golfing CIO, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Golf Operations Assistant to join our team. As a charity passionate about preserving and reviving golf across England, we deliver exceptional experiences for members, visitors, and the wider community in one of the country's most iconic royal parkland settings. In this hands-on role, you will be at the heart of daily golf operations, ensuring the smooth and welcoming running of our championship course and facilities. You will support golfers from arrival to departure, manage key front-of-house activities, and contribute to creating a positive, inclusive atmosphere for all. Requirements A genuine passion for golf with solid basic knowledge of the sport, rules, etiquette, and operations (essential for engaging confidently with players). Outstanding people skills — excellent customer service with a friendly, approachable, and positive demeanor; ability to build rapport quickly with diverse members, visitors, and colleagues. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to interact effectively with golfers, handle queries, and collaborate with team members. Proven organizational abilities, with the capacity to multitask, prioritize under pressure, and manage busy periods smoothly. Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn golf management/booking systems (experience with such systems is advantageous). High level of reliability, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working in a team-oriented environment. Ability to work variable shifts, including early mornings (from 5:30am), evenings (up to 10pm), weekends, split shifts, and holidays — particularly during peak summer months when daylight hours extend operations. Key Responsibilities Greeting and checking in golfers, managing tee time bookings, and coordinating play flow efficiently. Handling golf equipment rentals, sales of small retail items, and basic pro shop support. Providing excellent customer service by answering inquiries, offering course information, and resolving any issues with a friendly, professional approach. Assisting with starter/marshal duties as needed, monitoring pace of play, and ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience on the course. Supporting general operations including opening/closing procedures, maintaining cleanliness in key areas, and liaising with greenkeeping and other teams.
