A day in the life of a Murphy Plant Logistics Planner
1. Assess and allocate work requests from stakeholders in the transport management software, ensuring efficient distribution.
2. Plan and organise work requests to ensure work is carried out safely, on time, and cost-effectively.
3. Maintain fleet schedules, including overseeing and updating accurate schedules to optimise working hours and operational efficiency.
4. Monitor driver activities throughout shifts to ensure smooth operations and address issues promptly.
5. Resolve customer and driver queries related to work requests.
6. Prepare, maintain, and update all required transport data and management information in line with the company’s transport management software.
7. Provide exemplary customer service in all communications, fostering positive relationships with internal and external clients.
8. Oversee established paper and digital filing systems for easy retrieval of essential documents.
9. Manage financial duties, including processing invoices and tracking costs to support budget control.
10. Collaborate with the SHES department to establish and promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental matters.
11. Ensure compliance with the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System and maintain safety standards.
12. Report Health & Safety incidents promptly following the Group’s 2-1-2 reporting protocol.
13. Uphold company standards of Quality in accordance with Quality System requirements.

* Experience in HGV transport planning, including abnormal loads.
* Knowledge of construction industry, plant, and equipment.
* Experience with asset management software, route planning, and driver tachograph software is preferred.
* Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and/or fleet telematics.
