We're looking for a personable, determined, and creative
Senior Digital PR & Link Building Specialist
to help us deliver outstanding press coverage and backlinks for our clients.

As a senior, you'll manage campaigns end-to-end: from brainstorming and researching stories, to building relationships with journalists and publishers, through to outreach and reporting both internally and client-facing. You'll understand how to flip digital PR ideas into both coverage and links and how to use targeted link-building tactics to grow authority in ways that go beyond campaigns.
You'll be adept at uncovering insights from a variety of data sources and transforming them into stories that resonate across different industries. Whether it's spotting trends, analysing datasets, or tapping into timely news hooks, you'll know how to shape raw information into narratives that journalists want to cover and publishers want to link to. Just as importantly, you'll understand how to present these stories in engaging, shareable formats that maximise both coverage and backlink potential.
Working alongside other PR, SEO, and content specialists, you will mentor and help deliver best practices in building off-page authority, contribute to wider client brainstorms, and support the sales team with prospecting and pitching to new clients. You'll manage digital PR and link-building projects for a number of B2B and B2C clients, so versatility and an optimistic can-do attitude are a must.
You'll be expected to work collaboratively with other teams within Liberty, particularly working closely with SEO on obtaining the best links for the client and ensuring the PR strategy aligns with the SEO strategy. Consistently working with the Content team to provide in-depth briefs on the copy needed to support our campaigns. Also, occasionally working with our PPC and Social teams for promoting campaigns, affiliates and aligning the PR strategy to their activity.
As a strong, confident communicator, you'll build relationships with clients and team members, be able to convince them of digital best practices, and convey authority in your work.

Core responsibilities
* Build strong client relationships, quickly earning trust and confidence through clear communication, strategic recommendations, and consistent delivery
* Building relationships with journalists and relevant individuals/ websites to generate client publicity opportunities, with a focus on backlinks to our clients' domains
* Monitoring press requests and trending topics to create reactive stories
* Mentoring the digital PR team on best PR and link-building practices, and providing expertise and ideas on maximising coverage
* Running the PR on large accounts, from running brainstorms, data analysis, press release writing, media list creation and outreach
* Audit client and competitor backlink profiles to identify gaps, risks, opportunities, and recommend proactive strategies.
* Create media lists by using a database, but also manual searching to fill in any contact gaps
* Writing press releases based on campaigns, proactive ideas and reacting to things going on in the news
* Sourcing both free and paid data to create unique and interesting stories
* Pitching these stories to journalists and mentoring the rest of the team on best pitch practices
* Collaborating with digital delivery & accounts teams to maintain best practice and efficiency
* Proofing and editing press releases from other team members, monthly client reports and pitch decks
* Ensuring all client KPIs are on target, where not, proactively suggesting new ideas for obtaining coverage to achieve them
* Knowledge of UK based agencies on events, resources and happenings
* Supporting the PR Manager in developing the channel and our processes
The ideal person
* At least 4 years in a relevant PR/ link building role, ideally in an agency environment
* Will have a strong portfolio of coverage and links they've obtained in this time
* Experience in running their own PR and link-building client accounts, from a range of industries
* Demonstrable experience in securing strong coverage and links for clients
* Enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate about creating stories for the news
* Strong understanding of PR and digital marketing best practices
* Strong data analysis skills, including using free data sources to generate news angles
* Good understanding of tools such as:
Google Analytics/ GSC
Google Keyword Planner
Ahrefs/ SEMrush
Buzzstream
Microsoft suite (Word/ Excel, etc.)
Google documents (Sheets etc.)
Response Source and HARO
Muckrack
* Will be able to mentor and guide more junior members of the team in best PR and link-building practices
* Will have SEO experience and know which are the best links to gain for clients, which anchor texts are the most suitable, and be able to look at what links/coverage are being brought through.
* Will have experience with pitching, and helping create pitch decks and guide the sales team and SAMs on what we could contribute to a prospective client, or an upsell to a current client.
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative agency environment.
