Fire Service Engineer - London & Surrounding Regions
FAFS Fire & Security specialise in designing, installing, commissioning and servicing automatic Fire Detection, Protection and Alarm Systems in and around Greater London. We are currently looking to appoint a new Service Engineer specifically covering the London region.
FAFS Fire Service Engineer's
Service Fire and associated systems in line with the current regulations. Liaising with relevant departments to ensure best practice and the most cost-effective solution. To complete and return all Company documentation and certification to comply with the Company's ISO systems and procedures. To work as a team with colleagues and Service Manager to enhance the Company's reputation in quality and customer service. 1. Carry out scheduled routine servicing in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner in line with our Company's quality standards
2. Carry out all other necessary works required at customer premises in accordance with our Company's quality standards
3. Support the rota schedule as required to maintain a reliable and responsive out of hours service for our customers
4. Effectively communicate with our customers to ensure a good understanding of system and site status, particularly system defects that affect its correct function
5. Indicate to our client's customers any Fire Safety information relevant to the site
6. Plan own work, including routine service/maintenance visits, emergency call out requirements and remedial repairs and minor additions to existing installations in line with service administration guidance
7. Ensure legible and timely completion of our clients' paperwork as required
8. Be responsible for the management and security of own equipment stock in an efficient and economical manner by determining stock levels in relation to work activities and ordering stock items as and when appropriate
9. Operate in accordance with our client's requirements, Company and customer's quality standards and health and safety requirements
10. Discuss and recommend suggestions for system/service improvement with Line Manager
Who We're Looking For
FAFS Fire & Security recognise that our exemplary service can only be maintained by compliance to and the surpassing of British and European Standards which can only be effected through the continuous professional development of all team members, therefore, in addition to having all the usual attributes of a great FAFS Fire & Security employee, such as; a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, well presented and professional at all times, ability to work alone and as part of a team, for this specific opportunity we are looking for candidates who also offer:
11. Minimum of 3 years experience in a like for like or similar role.
12. Full and detailed understanding of BS Part 1
13. Has a comprehensive understanding of the causes and cures of fire alarm problems, including an ability to recommend changes to practices and processes that may cause false alarms as well as changes to the fire detection, alarm systems
14. Basic Electrical Safety training (ECA)
15. Manufactures training in all other equipment required. This may include VESDA, Radio and Fire Suppression and will be decided by the Line Manager based on regional needs Standards BS (if involved in installation work) BS Part 1 BS where required
16. To operate business procedures within the framework of BN EN ISO :
17. Preferred knowledge and capabilities on working on manufacturers Siemens and Gent analogue Fire alarm systems
