Creative Instructor - Summer - Maidenhead, Berkshire
Hours of work: 08:30 – 17:30
Salary: £412.00 – £559.17 per week, depending on age, experience, and qualifications.
(February Half Term Contracts to be issued on 2023 wage level. 2024 wage level effective from 1st April.)
Reportable to: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager, and Central Office

CREATIVE INSTRUCTOR DUTIES
1. Set up and maintain Arts & Crafts, Dance & Drama areas to be inviting and safe for children, keeping the work area tidy and stocked.
2. Follow policies and procedures to ensure a fun and safe environment for children.
3. Plan and deliver a variety of exciting, age-appropriate creative activities using available resources.
4. Provide safety instructions and demonstrations for equipment, ensuring adherence.
5. Work alongside other staff members assisting with sessions.
6. Take responsibility for general welfare and safeguarding.
7. Ensure children’s needs are met with active supervision during all times, including breaks and lunch.
8. Create prototypes for art sessions to display.
9. Encourage maximum participation from children.
10. Maintain a tidy site and ensure all equipment is packed away after use.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Experience in a creative background.
2. Aged 18 or over by the start date.
3. Eligible to work in the UK.
4. Satisfactory professional/academic references.
5. Enthusiastic, caring, organized, with excellent communication skills and initiative.
6. Enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or existing on the Update Service.
7. Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
8. Complete annual Online Training.
9. Attend Induction Training before the first working season.
10. Follow child protection policies when using camp tablets/kindles for music.
11. Assist with pack-up at camp’s end.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follow all Health and Safety obligations diligently.
2. Organize activities appropriate for your qualifications and skills.
3. Encourage children to participate in activities as per the timetable.
4. Supervise children’s behavior, know their whereabouts, and communicate daily about behavior codes.
5. Follow all camp systems, including registration, collection, and safety procedures.
6. Be a positive role model promoting healthy lifestyles and good hygiene.
7. Report Child Protection concerns to the Senior Team or designated persons.
8. Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs or medical conditions.
9. Support swimming sessions if required; bring swimwear and a spare T-shirt.
10. Perform other duties as necessary within the organization’s scope and objectives.
