2PM starts
Pay Rate: £15.74 per hour + shift allowance
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

About the Role:
Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver for food waste collection to join our successful client based in the Brighouse (HD6) area.
This role involves operating a refuse collection vehicle and collecting food waste bins from a mix of residential and commercial premises across the local area. It is a physically demanding position and requires a good level of fitness and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
This is an afternoon shift role, starting at 2PM, and may include working alone or as part of a crew.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive and operate a Class 2 refuse lorry
Collect and empty food waste bins across Brighouse and surrounding areas
Report any delays due to breakdowns, traffic, or weather conditions
Record and report any access problems or contaminated loads
Complete daily time sheets accurately for all jobs completed
Maintain awareness of surroundings to operate the vehicle safely
Work alone or assist with loading of waste, depending on route
Person Specification:
Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence (minimum 6 months)
Driver CPC certification
Digital Tachograph Card
At least 90 days of HGV Class 2 driving experience within the last 6 months
Experience in waste or recycling is advantageous
Strong work ethic and professional approach
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
