Overview
We are seeking a Science Technician on a temporary basis to provide additional technical support to teaching staff in our Science Department, particularly during open evenings. The role involves supporting demonstrations and practical lessons, and assisting with the preparation of materials and equipment for use in laboratories.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to teaching staff in the Science Department, particularly during open evenings.
* Work across a total of 70 overs over a few weeks (approximately 10 days x 7 hours).
* Days will vary by week based on staff needs and orders placed each week, with additional support during weeks with Open Evening.
* Transfer your interest and experience in Physics, Biology or Chemistry to support a busy department.
* Work as part of a team of technicians servicing laboratories and preparing materials and equipment for demonstrations and practical lessons as requested by teaching staff and the Science Technician Manager.
* Be subject to supervision but organise your own workload and set priorities within short, day-to-day timescales.
Qualifications and Skills
* Interest and experience in Physics, Biology or Chemistry.
* Ability to apply technical knowledge to support a busy science department.
