JobDescription:
In this role youllcollaborate closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Officersin overseeing the schools budget funding and procurement processeson behalf of the Headteacher and Governing Board (GB).Responsibilities include aiding the Head of Finance in financialmanagement planning and execution as well as handling daytodayfinancerelatedoperations.
Responsibilities:
* Assistthe Head of Finance in implementing the Financial Strategy for theschool.
* Execute delegatedaccounting tasks under the guidance of the Head ofFinance.
* Conduct procurementtasks and feasibility studies asnecessary.
* Serve as theschools creditcontroller.
* Addressinquiries from budgetholders.
* Aid the Head ofFinance in maximizing incomestreams.
* Support FinanceOfficers with income and expenditure matters asneeded.
* Assist the Head ofFinance in preparing monthly managementreports.
* Collaborate onannual statutory accounts required by the Local Authority CharitiesCommission and GoverningBoard.
* Support audits andinspections.
* Execute creditcontrol activities and address cash flowissues.
* Participate intendering processes as directed by the Head ofFinance.
* Monitor budgets andassist budgetholders.
* Coordinate with theHR team regarding staffing budgets and staff postnumbers.
* Ensure compliancewith statutory requirements and the FinancePolicy.
* Liaise with thelocal authority as required by the Head ofFinance.
* Conduct financialanalysis.
* Performreconciliations.
* Maintainaccurate financialrecords.
* Generate reports asrequested by the Head ofFinance.
Qualifications:
* Partqualifiedaccountant or possess a recognized bookkeepingqualification.
* Demonstratedcommitment to qualifying further and pursuing continuousprofessionaldevelopment.
* Priorexperience in accounting or bookkeeping within an organizationproficient in utilizing relevant softwarepackages.
* Competent incredit control procedures and vendorinteractions.
* Familiaritywith procurement processes andpurchasing.
* Proven trackrecord of advising and supporting budgetholders.
* Solid grasp offundamental accountingprinciples.
* Exceptionalcommunication abilities across alllevels.
* Proficient infinancial analysis with meticulous attention todetail.
* Highly skilled inadministrative and organizational tasks including proficiency inICT particularlyExcel.
* Ability to establishproductive relationships within the organization and externalagencies.
* Capable ofpresenting financial information in an accessible manner tononspecialists.
* Selfmotivatedand able to workindependently.
* Demonstratesreliability honesty andintegrity.
